Edward Wesson

Edward Wesson is another very influential watercolour artist. He was known for his simplicity and direct approach; he was also a gifted teacher and his classes were always noted for him showing off his good humour.

Unfortunately we do not have video clips of Wesson himself. However he does have plenty of imitators. Here is a YouTube video clip of the painter Alan Owen painting in a style inspired by Edward Wesson.

A quick search of Google will bring up many other similar clips which you can have fun exploring.

If you want to know more about the life and style of painting of Edward Wesson then Wikipedia is a good place to start.

It is skimpy on details but does contain links to books about Edward Wesson and his art.

Below is also an interesting link relating to some articles by Wesson for the magazine “The Artist” in 1962.
